In 2020, notable advancements were made in the field of AI. 

OpenAI released GPT-3, the largest language model to date with 175 billion parameters, showcasing its ability to generate coherent and realistic text. The ramp-up is really apparent here, one can only assume that 175Bn will be most interesting to see in action. 

The ethical implications of AI gained increased attention, with prominent incidents underscoring the need for ethical considerations in AI development and deployment. 

Quantum computing achieved a milestone known as quantum supremacy, as Google's quantum computer solved a problem in a fraction of the time it would take a supercomputer. 

AI also played a role in addressing climate change through tasks like deforestation monitoring and weather prediction. 

The development of autonomous vehicles continued, and machine learning saw significant progress with the introduction of new algorithms and models like RoBERTa. Overall, 2020 witnessed substantial progress in various areas such as natural language processing, healthcare, ethics, and climate change.
